  1. INTRODUCTION

Problem statement

While DeFi offers access to stable, high-yield assets, it remains out of reach for the majority of the global population affected with high inflation and currency depreciation.

1 - Disconnected Financial Infrastructure

  • Over 2 billion people use mobile money globally, yet they are isolated from DeFi

  • DeFi protocols don’t natively integrate with mobile money wallets or USSD

  • There is no seamless path from a feature phone to a yield-bearing asset

2 - Barriers to DeFi entry

Complexity & crypto-native design

  • Requires private key management, dApp navigation, and DeFi literacy

  • Gas fees, wallet UX, and token bridges present steep learning curves

Smartphone & internet dependence

  • Most DeFi protocols (Aave, Compound, UniSwap) require consistent access to smartphones and data

  • Low connectivity regions (e.g. rural Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America) are excluded by design
